August 6, 1970 - St. Peter the Apostle Parish was established by Bishop James Mahoney.
August 15, 1970 - First Mass celebrated by Fr. Stan Urbanoski. The parishioners were accommodated in the hallway and classrooms of Bishop Klein School. The collection of this Mass was $47.20*.
August 23, 1970 - Jeffrey Colin Kryzanowski was the first child baptized.
September 8, 1970 - First funeral service was for Kelly Francis Kramchynski.
October, 1970 - Catholic Women’s League was formed with Elizabeth Renneberg as President.
May 29, 1971 - First Confirmation celebration. Bishop James P. Mahoney officiating.
February, 1972 - First Parish Council was established with Al Wirll as Chairperson.
December 22, 1973 - First Mass celebrated in the newly built chapel attached to the Bishop Klein School Gym. The processional Cross, still being used today, was donated by the 1972-73 Grades 7 & 8 classes from Bishop Klein School. The Holy Oil Stocks were donated by the Grade 7 & 8 classes of 1973-74.
December 23, 1973 - Tracy Ann Niedzielski was the first child baptized in the new chapel.
August 31, 1974 - First wedding in the parish was that of Carl Adolph Friske and Marilyn Louise Rybotycki.
October 23, 1974 - Dedication of the new chapel by Bishop James P. Mahoney.
1976 - Men’s Club was formed with Bill Zmud as President.
Fall 1976 - First Parish Worker, Sister Pauline Freist was hired.
October 29, 1978 - Official Opening and blessing of the new Parish Centre by Bishop James Mahoney.
1982 - Feasibility study taken to determine if the people of Fairhaven, Pacific Heights and Confederation Park feel they need a Catholic church in that area. Answer was a resounding “yes” and construction of St. Patrick’s Parish began.
Fall 1984 - With the opening of St. Patrick’s Parish, the size of St. Peter the Apostle Parish was drastically reduced as its boundaries now included only the areas of Massey Place, Westview Heights and the new subdivision of Dundonald.
September 3, 1985 - Opening of St. Peter’s School in the Dundonald subdivision.
1995 - 25th Anniversary celebrations began at Easter with a Mission led by Fr. Joe Scerbo from Laguna Beach, California. Theme: “Thanksgiving”. A picnic was held at the Knights of Columbus Youth Camp at Blackstrap in June. Parishioners camped over night, a pancake break?fast was held on Sunday morning followed by Mass, ball games, water fights, games and a barbecue supper. Anniversary mugs were sold. A Parish Pictorial Directory was done and a new set of vestments was purchased. On August 18" a Vigil of Prayer was held in thanksgiving for the blessings of 25 years.
August 19, 1995 - Mass of Thanksgiving with Very Reverend Fr. Len Morand as celebrant and Fathers Stan Urbanoski, Francis Kolla, Brad Bodnarchuk and Denis Phaneuf concelebrating. A banquet, catered by Parishioner Myron Sirman from the “Touch of Ukraine” , and a program followed at St. Peter School gym.
October 28, 1995 - 25th Anniversary of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Women’s League - Mass, supper and program. Very Reverend Fr. Len Morand and Fathers Brad Bodnarchuk and Francis Kolla concelebrated the Mass. Marie Simenot was the guest speaker at the banquet. Marie Looman and Darlene Hueser were presented with 25 year CWL membership pins. The first president, Mrs. Elizabeth Renneberg, and the current President June Gorgchuck cut the Anniversary cake. 10 of the 14 former presidents were in attendance.
June 23, 2024 - St. Peter the Apostle Parish celebrates the feast day of St. Peter. The Knights of Columbus led the way by preparing free meal and delicious Bar-B-Q for everyone!
June 23, 2024 - As part of the feast of St. Peter celebration was the Launching of the official website of the Parish named www.stpeterparishsaskatoon.faith. It started with a speech by the Church Council President Shawna Arthur and then followed by a prayer by Fr. Clement Boachie Arthur. After that, a count down by the people as Fr. Clement Boachie Arthur "pressed the button" on the laptop to launch the website. The website was shown via a projector to the parishioners who were present in celebrating St. Peter's day, while Church Council Secretary Joanne Lafontaine presented and described the features of the website. The website was designed, built and is being managed voluntarily by Carl Somera as his way of serving God and contributing to the parish community. Godwin Amadin donated for the first subscription fee of the website's domain name. The beautiful images on the website were taken by volunteer professional photographers Jovil Paez, Sanny Figurasin and Carl Somera. The text contents and other photos were also contributed by Joanne Lafontaine, Shawna Arthurs, Cynthia Muncal-Somera, Patrice Harelkin and Fr. Clement Boachie Arthur.
